NCAA Champions can definitely compete on the pro level!

Ben Shelton is one of the rising stars of American tennis born out of an extremely successful collegiate career. If you’ve ever watched college tennis, I’m sure you’ve seen a lot of people playing with green strings. Those green strings are made by an American company called, Solinco. A lot of collegiate players use Solinco products as they’ve proven to have the right balance of durability and spin.

But not everyone can play with polyester strings in the mains AND crosses. Some of our tendons can’t handle that stiffness any more. Not to worry, I have just the solution for you. Putting PEEK in the crosses really mellows that full polyester stiffness and offers amazing comfort. If you like the response of natural gut in the crosses, this is a better alternative in my opinion. PEEK has the same softness of natural gut but the spin and durability of a polyester.

  • I have 2 versions:
  • Solinco Hyper G regular 16L (very stiff polyester)/PEEK
  • Solinco Hyper G SOFT 16L (it is relatively soft with stiffness of a firm nylon)/PEEK
  • string it at the same tension as your full polyester setup
