“I want to use what Rafa uses in his racquet”. I’ve heard this statement so many times and I’ve tried to steer so many people away from it. You might even be visiting this site because you wanted the same thing and are now experiencing the consequences of it (his string is one of the stiffest and most unforgiving strings ever made). If we were allowed to put Formula1 tires on our Camry’s I guarantee there would be 1000fold more accidents on the road. There’s a reason why the DOT doesn’t allow this. I often question why the industry allows us to put Rafa’s strings in our racquets.  Yes, maybe 1% of players can utilize it properly but most of us recreational players don’t and won’t.

Ranting aside, I think so many of us have gotten used to the dynamic response of poly, there’s no going back. So I’ve created this hybrid to hopefully solve this dilemma. This is the only hybrid of mine that uses 100% PEEK in both the mains and crosses. Black PEEK is hybrided with natural PEEK and yes, the strings are not all black so you’ll have to use your imagination. But it still remains to simulate that poly feel with low power and spin. Albeit with so much more comfort.

What does it feel like? It’ll probably feel a lot like how your polys feel after they’ve lost their tension. Some people really like it when poly tensions stabilize. It’s low powered and works best in powerful stiff racquets with very open string patterns like the Pure Aero or Pure Drive. Maybe it’s time to reinvent your setup like so many others have!
