In the mains I’ve put the second stiffest “synthetic gut” I’ve ever tested (the stiffest one I’ve tested I’ve put in Stan-the-Man). It really simulates that freshly strung poly string bed. But because it’s “synthetic gut”, it doesn’t lose tension as quickly as poly and gradually loses playability and doesn’t go south on you in the middle of a match. In the crosses are natural PEEK which has that smoothness and allows that poly-like spin you’ve become addicted to.

PEEK also stays playable for an extremely long time. I’m not sure why (maybe because of it’s more complex chemical compound) but I’ve never had PEEK bag out on me. It stays playable until it breaks. It lasts an especially long time in the following hybrids: Image of Agassi, The Greek, “God” and The G.O.A.T. (in a tighter patterned racquet). You’ve gotta try it to believe it.

• first hit with be stiff but it’ll settle in nicely by the 2nd hit
• maintains tension extremely well
• main strings are white like Thiem’s new strings!
