  • Multifilament Strings

Not soft and mushy like some multifilaments. This one is crisp and powerful. Like how some of us wish natural gut was. This multifilament is actually a little stiff by comparison but that also makes it an easier transition if you’re coming from the world of polys.

String manufacturers have been trying to imitate the properties of natural gut for decades. They use thousands of soft fibers, soft resins and a mix of various materials. Honestly, I think they’ve gotten quite close. I remember stringing the first multifilament made by Tecnifibre in the 90’s. It was a revelation. The benefits of multifilaments not only the lowers cost but the maintenance of the string when comparing it to natural gut. You don’t need to wax or lubricate multifilaments (this one also has PU imbedded into the string so it stays relatively slick). You don’t need to worry about humidity and temperature. Now don’t confuse this with “synthetic gut”. Those are in their own category and cannot be compared to multifilaments. You can read my opinions about “synthetic gut” but multifilaments are honestly wonderful for a majority of players who want a little more comfort out of their strings.
