Tried and true since the 80s and 90s Gosen continues to produce some of the best “synthetic gut” strings. I simply call them nylon because it’s the exact material they are made. Manufacturers called it “synthetic gut” because it sounded more sexy.

A perfect mix of crispness and power, these strings are a really good complement and/or alternative to poly. Some people feel that these types of synthetics are outdated but I would disagree. They are still relevant for their power and longevity. So as poly strings become less powerful and stiffer, the racquets become more powerful and stiffer as a response. I don’t know why the tail wags the dog in the modern game but synthetics are an excellent alternative to those who prefer firm strings but remain comfortable.

There were some pro players who used Gosen strings back in the day: Jim Courier and famously, Anna Kournikova. Gosen still sells her strings under the moniker, “AK”. Martina Navratilova was also known to string her racquets with “synthetic gut” when she practiced but then restrung her racquets with natural gut for her matches. She understood the value and performance of a good synthetic

I stock it in 16, 17 and 18 gauges. Black and Natural colors. I’m featuring the 18g as the description because few people have actually tried it. It has lots of power, spin and pockets the ball incredibly well.
